One of the key elements of happiness for me is living simply, with gratitude for all that I have, and then abundantly giving whatever I can to those around me…my things, my time, my energy, my talents, whatever I can.

Julie B. Beck is a woman that I really admire.  I love her thoughts on living with less…and the abundant life that follows:

"Mothers who know do less. They permit less of what will not bear good fruit eternally. They allow less media in their homes, less distraction, less activity that draws their children away from their home. Mothers who know are willing to live on less and consume less of the world’s goods in order to spend more time with their children—more time eating together, more time working together, more time reading together, more time talking, laughing, singing, and exemplifying.”

After years of wanting more and trying to do too much, I’ve realized how much happier I am with less.  I have more time and energy for what I really want and a much deeper sense of appreciation In fact, I’ve started stripping away a lot of the excess in my life…and I’ve discovered a more abundant life than any I’ve dreamed of.  I feel a sense of freedom, an inner calm, and a need to give as much as I possibly can.  My life is beautiful.
